Motunrayo Alaka the leading advocate for the development of investigative reporting and accountability journalism suggested that to fight through for women visibility and gender equality, there is need to make more intentional steps by starting from teaching media.
Uganda Media Women’s Association (UMWA) with support from Urgent Action Fund conducted a series of trainings of grassroot women entrepreneurs. This was on communication skills and media use.
Majority of the trained female journalists are undertaking investigative stories on corruption, extortion, sexual exploitations and peer-peer knowledge sharing in their journalists networks/newsrooms.
