The Symposium was made colorful by the dinner awarding ceremony of women media practitioners who have overtime done impactful and life changing works. These distinguished ladies in media were selected from academia, research, management, civil society, mentors, managers, researchers and trainers.
Clearly, we have all witnessed the contribution of women in their diverse empowerment. Their efforts have contributed to both national and international development but also a balanced resource utilization by all with women as part of decision making. Indeed, in the recent elections, we have seen a 43% women political positioning, the kind of Winnie Byanyima become Executive Director, UNAIDS, among many. Largely, these women are responsible and respectful wives, mothers, daughters, sisters and colleagues, a contrary to the belief of “control”
It is even more dear to celebrate that mother who is a journalist and beats all odds to deliver the public good of information but also provide all the world can offer best for her children amidst all challenges. Dear mothers, you are ‘potters’ whose works are a building blocks of all nations.
