I have spent quite sometime in the media and served at different levels, but this training has added a big brick on my understanding of media and how it should be organized to cause a positive impact in society. It should not be business as usual. Run to the scene, interview someone or people and go back to the newsroom and expose.
Responsive to the rampage, UMWA has kick started regional capacity building targeting female journalists. This is in effort to enhance their knowledge and skills on keeping safe and secure in their career execution.
Now that I know how powerful I can be in fighting injustices, I believe I am going to do better and make Uganda a better place to stay. I shall start by ensuring that the stories I do especially about Gender based violence are covered to the last detail and shall do follow up till justice is served. I shall no longer stop at covering or exposing an incident.
