Conflict And Peace Building

This project started in 2003 to focus on the north and eastern parts of Uganda. In the north eastern (Karamoja) the project sought to encourage inhabitants and particularly the civil society to use media as an advocacy tool.

In the north the project seeks “to nationalize” the war in the northern region so it becomes a national concern.  It also seeks to bring to the fore concerns of the displaced people, most of them having lived in camps for over a decade.

Issues of women, children and disabilities are of major concern. Resettlement and re-integration after the war are also critical in this project.
