Support us

The past three years have not been financially easy for Uganda Media Women’s Association, and in particular the first women radio station in Africa, Mama FM 101.7.

As donor funding is scaled down globally, the women’s right to communicate, self expression and be heard continues to slide back at the periphery.

The available funding from Norad and Fokus through The Norwegian Council for Africa and Hivos have not enabled the women of Uganda effectively participate in affairs that affect them. Neither have they adequately spoken out about the violations and abuse of their rights.

Since the station was founded six years ago, this has been the medium women have taken refuge in. Without the now much needed support, the voice for the underprivileged may wither away which is why we seek for support. This may be in form of finances, skills or knowledge. Please contact us if you can contribute with any of the mentioned.
