The Secretariat is the head office of the association. It is charged with the responsibility of implementing the policy decisions and programs of the association as approved by the General Assembly and the Board of Directors.

The Secretariat is the coordinating and major implementing body of UMWA. It is headed by a full time Executive Director and ex-officio of the board who works with program officers, producers, presenters, and support staff qualified in their specialities.
