Ms Jane Baitwa Kyomuhendo

Ms. Kyomuhendo holds an M.A in Public Administration and Management from Makerere University, Bachelor of Social Sciences in Political Science and Sociology, and a Diploma in Journalism from Uganda Managements Institute.

Jane also has received short term trainings in Core Technical users of peasants worldwide website, Community radio journalism, News and Current Affairs, Strategic planning, rural broadcasting, magazine planning and management, desktop publishing, management for young executives, promotion of women’s self-help activities, and agricultural information processing.

Ms. Kyomuhendo is currently working with the Nile Bansin as a Senior Public Affairs Officer. Prior to this she has worked as a Press- and Information Officer with the Delegation of the European Commission in Uganda. She has worked as an Information Services manager with the Uganda National Farmers Federation (UNFFE), News Editor for Radio Uganda, Manager for Publications Department at the Foundation for African Development (FAD) and Administrative Assistant with Three Ways Shipping Services. 

Ms. Kyomuhendo has undertaken several consultancies some of which are: designing a communication strategy for the Directorate of Water Development (DWD), designing Mass media for COWI consultant, production of the ASPS bulletin and brochure for the ministry of Agriculture, part of a team of a DANIDA mission on “organic versus non organic agricultural production in Uganda” and editing the Rural Finnacila Services (RFS) needs study for DFD, Bank of Uganda. Jane’s research experience spans across issues of agricultural policy, agricultural production and consumption and role of the media in covering NGO work.

Her key competencies are in the areas of: designing and implementing information and communication strategies, designing educational, promotional and public relations materials, formulating media messages, media training, training of trainers in effective communication and public relations, community organization skills, budget drawing and management, team working, magazine production and management, report writing and editing.

Ms. Kyomuhendo’s other professional affiliations include Public Relations Association of Uganda (PRAU), Uganda Media Development Foundation (UMDF) and Uganda Broadcasters Forum (UBROF).
