Anita S. Mago-Sempa

Ms. Sempa has an M.A in Gender Studies, Bachelors in Mass Communication, and a Diploma in Music, Dance and Drama all from Makerere University. She has also attended a number of courses in journalism, certificates in French, news and current affairs, translation French/English, adult education for development, radio for rural development, rural journalism, communicating Red Cross Emblem, management skills for rural development, art of public speaking, community radio journalism and computing skills.

Ms. Sempa is currently Director of Media Might. Prior to this she worked for the International Women’s Club as information and publicity volunteer. She has also worked for Plan International as donor Service Coordinator, for Uganda Red Cross as Information Officer, and for the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting as Program Assistant.

Ms. Sempa has in-depth knowledge and skills in Community radio programming and developing educational and publicity strategy and materials.

She has also done consultancies on media, research and training for organizations like Uganda Media Women’s Association, Uganda Women’s Network (UWONET), and National Drug Authority.

Ms. Sempa’s other professional affiliations include Uganda Red Cross Society, International Journalists Association, International Women’s Charities of Moscow and Action for Russian Children.
